Houston Weather at 8 A.M.: 66 and Overcast, Friday's Rain Code 61 Is Back at 33 Percent, Halloween's Code Clears While Its 47 Percent Chance Holds
The morning feed swapped the two days' codes: Friday carries rain again, Saturday carries only the chance of it - and Election Day's thunderstorms did not move at all.

HOUSTON - Houston stood at 66.3 degrees, feeling like 67.7, under overcast skies on the station's live weather feed read at about 8:10 a.m. Friday, the final day of early voting in Texas. Friday itself changed for the second time this morning: cleared to plain overcast code 3 at the 6 a.m. read, the day is back on rain code 61, with a high of 77.1 degrees, a low of 65.7 and a rain chance of 33 percent, up from 24 percent two hours ago. Voters heading out for the last early-voting day should expect a grey day that can turn wet.
Halloween Saturday moved the opposite way. The rain code 61 the feed carried for Saturday at dawn is gone, replaced by overcast code 3 at 78.2 degrees over 64.7 - but the day's rain chance held exactly where it was, at 47 percent, the second-highest figure in the week. In plain terms, the feed no longer calls Saturday rainy, and it still gives trick-or-treating nearly even odds of rain. Families should plan costumes and routes that can take a shower.
The rest of the week held its shape, with two warm days now in front of Election Day. Sunday is overcast and hot at 87.3 degrees with a 6 percent rain chance, Monday is overcast at 85.6 with a 4 percent chance, and Election Day Tuesday keeps thunderstorm code 95 at 80.4 degrees with a 68 percent rain chance - the highest figure in the seven-day feed for the fourth straight read. Wednesday and Thursday both clear to code 0, at 77.8 and 80.6 degrees. The Weather Desk updates the file as the feed moves.
