Trump Rallies in Kansas and Iowa Are Back On for Sunday, a Day After He Canceled Them (SPACE CITY DAILY)

WASHINGTON - President Donald Trump will hold rallies for Senate midterm candidates in Kansas and Iowa on Sunday, November 1, after previously canceling the planned visits just days before the midterm elections, USA Today reported Friday. A source familiar with the plans confirmed the rallies are back on and said the dates were rearranged to accommodate dozens of tele-rallies Trump is planning for Republican candidates in the final days of the campaign. The Salina, Kansas rally moves from Saturday, October 31 to Sunday; the Dubuque, Iowa rally remains on November 1.

The reversal follows a cancellation made, in USA Today's account, with no explanation on Thursday, October 29. The Kansas rally is for Sen. Roger Marshall and the Iowa rally for Rep. Ashley Hinson, in Senate races polling shows tight in two states that historically vote Republican. A Washington Post poll released Friday found Democratic nominee Adam Hamilton ahead of Marshall 52 percent to 43 percent among likely voters in Kansas - a state Trump carried by 16 percentage points in 2024 and which last elected a Democratic senator in 1932. In Iowa, Hinson leads Democratic nominee Josh Turek by less than 1 percentage point in a Real Clear Politics average of recent polls; Trump carried Iowa in 2024 by 13 points.

Trump has held more than two dozen rallies in the homestretch of the midterm campaign, often speaking for nearly two hours, and his voice has turned hoarse in recent days, USA Today reported. Asked by a reporter whether he had canceled the Kansas trip because he is tired of traveling, the president answered: 'You've been following me for two weeks. I feel perfect. You are disgusting. Put yourself in shape. You look like hell.' He holds the next rally on the schedule Friday night in Daytona Beach, Florida, before the restored Sunday swing through Kansas and Iowa - two days before Election Day.
