HOUSTON - Shell Energy Stadium will serve as a vote center for Harris County's November 3 general and special elections, Houston Dynamo FC announced Monday, giving East Downtown an Election Day polling place inside the home of the Dynamo and the Dash. Ballots will be cast in the stadium's Jameson Club from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

'Shell Energy Stadium is a gathering place for Houston, and opening our doors for voting is another way we can serve our community,' said Jessica O'Neill, the club's president of business operations. 'We are proud to welcome Harris County voters to our home and encourage our neighbors to participate in this election.' Free voter parking will be available in Blue Lot 1, on the stadium's west side, with access through the Jameson Club entrance, and curbside voting will also be available in Blue Lot 1. The stadium, at 2200 Texas Avenue, sits next to the EaDo/Stadium Station on the METRORail Green and Purple lines.

The stadium is one of more than 600 Election Day vote centers expected across Harris County, and the countywide rule is the one that matters most on Tuesday: registered Harris County voters may cast their ballots at any vote center in the county, regardless of their home precinct, with polls open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Voters should bring an acceptable form of photo identification, such as a Texas driver license or a U.S. passport; voters who do not possess and cannot reasonably obtain one may present an approved supporting document and complete a Reasonable Impediment Declaration.

Harris County offers ballots in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Chinese. Registration status, sample ballots, vote center locations and identification requirements are at HarrisVotes.com, or by phone at 713-755-6965. Voters hand-delivering a completed mail ballot on Election Day do so at 1019 Congress Street in downtown Houston, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
