Omer Yurtseven Joins the Rockets' G League Affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, for Training Camp
The 28-year-old Turkish center is among 17 players on the Vipers' training camp roster, returning to the Houston Rockets affiliate that holds his G League returning rights - and to the team he briefly represented last season before stops with Golden State and Real Madrid.

Omer Yurtseven will take part in training camp with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Houston Rockets' G League affiliate, Eurohoops reported. The 28-year-old Turkish international has been included on the Vipers' 17-player camp roster, and the affiliate holds his G League returning player rights.
It is a return, not an introduction. Yurtseven spent approximately ten days with the Vipers in March 2026 before moving to the Golden State Warriors, and he subsequently finished the season with Real Madrid in Spain. Before that stretch he was a Panathinaikos center, playing for the Greek club from 2024 to 2026.
For the Rockets organization, the camp invite puts an experienced international big man back inside the affiliate system that feeds the NBA roster - the same pipeline Houston uses to evaluate size and depth behind its frontcourt rotation. Eurohoops framed the opportunity plainly: Yurtseven now has another chance to pursue a return to the NBA through the G League, starting with making the Vipers out of camp.
The Vipers are the Rockets' long-running affiliate in the Rio Grande Valley, and their camp roster is where Houston's two-way and development evaluations begin each season. Whether Yurtseven's stay runs longer than last season's ten days is now a camp question.
