John Washington III Calls the Political System a Joke and Says It Is Time to Question the Entire System

John Washington III Calls the Political System a Joke and Says It Is Time to Question the Entire System (SPACE CITY DAILY)

"THIS POLITICAL SYSTEM IS A JOKE! IT'S TIME TO QUESTION THE ENTIRE SYSTEM!" John Washington III wrote, asking how long Americans will allow a political system to control their lives, exercise power over them and take their hard-earned money without questioning how that power is being used.

John Washington III noted that the country has Democrats and Republicans - two different political parties - but that both operate under the same political system, participating in passing laws, collecting taxes, creating regulations and exercising governmental authority over the American people. If both parties are supposed to be fighting for the people, he asked, why do so many Americans continue to feel they are the ones being taken advantage of? Why, he asked, do voters argue about Democrats and Republicans instead of questioning the system both parties operate under - and who is really benefiting, who is really being represented, and who is actually holding officials accountable?

Every election season, John Washington III wrote, politicians promise to fight for voters, protect their rights, lower their taxes and change the system. After they are elected, he asked, where is the change, where is the accountability, and where is the fight for the American people - and why does the system keep operating the same way regardless of which party holds office?

John Washington III also placed himself inside that argument rather than above it. "I AM A MEMBER OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY!" he wrote. "BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN I'M GOING TO SIT HERE AND PRETEND THAT EVERYTHING THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY DOES IS RIGHT!" - and, he added, he is not going to pretend everything the Republican Party does is right, either.
