John Washington III Asks Who Gave Government the Right to Speak for Him and His Family Without Their Consent
Presidential candidate John Washington III is demanding that government show where he and his family ever consented to be spoken for - arguing that legal authority is not unlimited control, and that a government claiming to represent people must answer to the people whose lives it affects.

John Washington III put a direct question to the federal government and to every state government in the country: "WHO GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO SPEAK FOR ME AND MY FAMILY WITHOUT MY CONSENT?" The presidential candidate grounded the challenge in the Declaration of Independence, which he noted says governments get their just powers from the consent of the governed. "SO WHEN DID I GIVE MY CONSENT?" he wrote. "WHEN DID MY FAMILY GIVE THEIRS?"
John Washington III argued that agreement binds only those who make it. If a group makes rules for themselves, he wrote, that agreement speaks for that group, not for everyone else - and he drew the comparison to mafia families, which have their own codes but cannot walk into another family's home and declare that everyone in it belongs to them. Being born under a government, he added, does not mean he personally agreed to every decision it makes, and he said he and his children have constitutional rights.
"GOVERNMENT MUST NOT CONFUSE LEGAL AUTHORITY WITH UNLIMITED CONTROL!" John Washington III wrote. If officials claim to speak for him, he said, they must show where he agreed, show how they are representing his family, and answer to the people whose lives their decisions affect.
"THAT'S THE GROUND I'M STANDING ON!" John Washington III wrote, signing the statement with his name and his 2028 presidential candidacy.
