I-10 Katy Eastbound Loses Five Lanes Overnight Sunday - and the 610 Connector Ramp Is Closed Entirely

HOUSTON - Drivers crossing the Katy Freeway overnight will find most of it missing. Houston TranStar's construction report lists five outside lanes of I-10 eastbound, from Silber Road to the I-610 West Loop / U.S. 290 direct connect, closed from 9 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2 - and the eastbound connector ramp to the West Loop closed entirely in the same window.

For the connector, TranStar posts a specific detour: drivers who would have taken the ramp should continue east on I-10 to exit 764, make a U-turn, and then take exit 762B for I-610. The closure window ends at 5 a.m., ahead of the Monday morning drive - but overnight airport runs, shift workers and anyone crossing the West Loop interchange before dawn should plan around it.

It is not the only overnight work on the corridor. Farther east, two inside lanes of I-10 eastbound from Studemont Street to I-45 Gulf / Hogan Street are closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Monday, Nov. 9. On the West Loop itself, two inside lanes northbound from Woodway Drive to Old Katy Road close nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Friday, Nov. 6.

South of downtown, the I-45 Gulf southbound connector ramp to Woodridge Drive remains under a total closure continuously until 5 a.m. Monday, with TranStar's detour running via Exit 41A and the frontage road to the South Loop East service road.
