East Sam Houston Tollway Closes From Pine Street to SH 225 at 10 P.M. Tonight, All Weekend Until 5 A.M. Monday (SPACE CITY DAILY)

PASADENA - The East Sam Houston Tollway will close completely from Pine Street to SH 225 beginning at 10 p.m. tonight, Friday, October 30, and will not reopen until 5 a.m. Monday, November 2, for scheduled maintenance on the roadway. The closure takes in the whole weekend - Halloween Saturday and Sunday included - on the Beltway 8 East corridor that carries Pasadena, Deer Park and La Porte traffic toward the Ship Channel crossings.

Three entrance ramps close with the mainlanes: the northbound ramps at Red Bluff, Spencer and Fairmont. The signed detour sends traffic off at the Pasadena Boulevard/Red Bluff exit ramp and then along the northbound frontage road to SH 225. Drivers who normally enter the tollway at Spencer or Fairmont will find those ramps shut for the same window and should start on the frontage road instead of driving to a closed ramp.

The work is scheduled maintenance, not an emergency closure, which means the 5 a.m. Monday reopening is a plan drivers can build the Monday commute around - and the Friday 10 p.m. start is late enough that tonight's evening traffic clears first. Anyone crossing the east side this weekend should check Houston TranStar before leaving and allow the frontage-road detour its extra minutes.
