I-10 East Is Open Again: Eastbound Lanes at the East Loop Reopen After the Overturned 18-Wheeler Is Cleared (SPACE CITY DAILY)

HOUSTON - All eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near the East Loop reopened Friday morning after an overturned 18-wheeler shut them down for hours, KPRC 2 Houston reported. The closure, which this station filed at 8:04 a.m. as it stood, had closed every eastbound main lane of the East Freeway at the I-610 East Loop near Jacinto City, after the truck overturned on its side, according to Houston TranStar and Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. Highway 90 was the signed alternate while the lanes were closed.

The reopening reports describe a shutdown measured in hours that began before Friday morning and ended Friday morning once crews cleared the truck; they do not state an exact reopening time, and this desk does not invent one. No injury information was reported in the original closure coverage, and none is added here.

For the afternoon drive, the practical news is simple: the East Freeway's eastbound main lanes at the East Loop are carrying traffic again, and the Highway 90 detour is no longer the necessary route it was this morning. Drivers should still expect the ordinary Friday residual slowdowns around the interchange as the corridor settles. The Traffic Desk files the PM drive report inside the 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. window.
