I-10 East: Overturned 18-Wheeler Closes All Eastbound Main Lanes at the East Loop Near Jacinto City, Highway 90 Is the Alternate
The East Freeway's eastbound main lanes are shut at the I-610 East Loop on Friday morning, and TranStar's advice is simple: stay off it and take Highway 90.

HOUSTON - An 18-wheeler overturned on the East Freeway near Jacinto City on Friday morning, closing all eastbound main lanes of I-10 East along the I-610 East Loop, FOX 26 Houston reported, citing Houston TranStar. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reported the truck overturned on its side along the roadway.
The closure sits on one of the east side's heaviest freight and commuter corridors, where I-10 East carries Port Houston and petrochemical traffic alongside the morning drive from Jacinto City, Galena Park and Channelview toward the Loop. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and consider other routes, such as Highway 90, FOX 26 reported.
No information about injuries, the truck's cargo or a reopening time was included in the report read by this desk on Friday morning, and none is reported here. The Traffic Desk will update the file when TranStar clears the lanes or the sheriff's office releases more. Until then, eastbound drivers should build the detour into the trip rather than discovering it at the Loop.
