Houston Traffic on Monday: New Lane Closures Begin on the West Loop Frontage, US-90 and US-90A - and Three Nightly Sets Start Tonight
The 5 a.m. drive itself is construction-light - Monday's new work mostly starts at 9 - but TranStar's board opens a fresh week: a West Loop frontage lane at Bellaire to Beechnut through Nov. 13, a US-90 lane at Uvalde to Wallisville through Friday, a US-90A alternate lane through Nov. 20, and three two-lane nightly closures beginning tonight.

HOUSTON - Houston's Monday morning drive starts before the week's new construction does. Houston TranStar's construction report shows the new closures dated Monday mostly switching on at 9 a.m., after the peak - but they run for days, and three nightly sets join them tonight, so the week ahead is set by this board.
The longest of the new daytime items sits on the West Loop's own feeder: one outside lane of the I-610 West Loop westbound frontage road from Bellaire Boulevard to Beechnut Street is closed daily, weekends excluded, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday, Nov. 2 through Friday, Nov. 13. On the east side, one inside lane of US-90 westbound from Uvalde to Wallisville Road closes daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, Nov. 6, and one alternate lane of US-90 Alternate in both directions from MLK Boulevard to Cullen Boulevard closes daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 20 - the longest window of the new set.
Tonight's work is heavier. Two inside lanes of the I-610 West Loop northbound from Woodway Drive to Old Katy Road close nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday morning, Nov. 6. Two outside lanes of I-45 southbound in Montgomery County, from League Line to the Hardy Toll / Harris County line, close nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday, Nov. 6. And two inside lanes of I-10 Katy eastbound from Studemont Street to the I-45 Gulf / Hogan Street junction close nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Monday morning, Nov. 9.
All six items are TranStar's posted construction schedule, not incident closures. Drivers with a Monday that starts after 9 a.m. will meet the daytime set first; drivers out after 8 p.m. meet the West Loop lanes. The station's daytime file carries the South Loop set posted for today, and the two boards together are Monday's full picture.
