Houston Traffic on Monday Daytime: I-610 South Loop Frontage Closes at the West Loop, Fannin Lanes Narrow and a Sugar Land Ramp Shuts

HOUSTON - Houston's Monday construction story moves from the freeways to the feeders when the morning drive ends. Houston TranStar's construction report puts a total closure on the I-610 South Loop eastbound frontage road at the West Loop South entrance ramp from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, with the agency's detour sending frontage traffic onto the I-610 eastbound mainlanes to the Stella Link exit, then a U-turn back to the street they wanted.

The South Loop feeders take two more hits in the same working hours. Two alternate lanes of the eastbound frontage road from Fannin Street to Knight Road are closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and the same closure - two alternate lanes, 9 to 4, Monday and Tuesday - applies from Stella Link Road to Marlive Lane. Drivers crossing the South Loop on surface streets should expect the feeder, not the freeway, to be the slow part.

In Fort Bend County, the I-69 northbound entrance ramp from University Boulevard in Sugar Land is under total closure on Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; TranStar directs traffic to the next entrance ramp after First Colony Boulevard / Sweetwater Boulevard. On the Katy corridor, one inside lane of I-10 eastbound from Taylor Street to Houston Avenue is closed daily from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Sunday, Nov. 8 - the longest window on Monday's board.

TranStar's board also posts Tuesday's first items a day early, and Election Day drivers should note them: one inside lane of each of the I-10 westbound exit ramps to Bingle Road / Voss and to Campbell Road closes Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the I-610 South Loop southbound connector ramp to I-45 Gulf closes totally at night, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., from Tuesday through Thursday morning. All windows are the agency's posted construction schedule, not incident closures.
