Houston Traffic at 1 A.M. Tuesday: No Freeway Incidents at All, Two Major Accidents on the Streets, and a New South Loop Ramp Closure Tonight

HOUSTON - Houston's freeways were completely clear of incidents early Tuesday morning - and the streets were not. Houston TranStar's 1:06 a.m. board lists zero freeway incidents, five street incidents and six stalls.

The two major accidents are at 6135 Westheimer Road, reported at 12:55 a.m., and at 1200 Clear Lake City Boulevard, reported at 12:09 a.m. Behind them: a traffic hazard at 701 West Sam Houston Parkway North at Kimberley Lane (12:54 a.m.), and minor accidents at 1718 West Loop North (12:48 a.m.) and 12360 Dorwayne Court (12:32 a.m.). TranStar lists no vehicle counts on its street board, and no official detail beyond the listings has been released.

Six stalls remain, all on shoulders or ramps: a heavy-truck stall on the SH-288 Southbound entrance ramp at Airport Boulevard, verified at 11:41 p.m., and shoulder stalls on IH-69 Southbound at SH-6 in Fort Bend County, IH-45 North Southbound at Franklin Street, twice on IH-69 Eastex Northbound, and on US-290 Northwest Westbound after FM-529 on the left shoulder. TranStar reports no high-water and no ice locations.

One closure is new tonight, and it lands on Election Night: the IH-610 South Loop Southbound connector ramp to IH-45 Gulf closes totally for pavement repair, nightly from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Thursday. The rest of the map holds - the US-90 Alternate Westbound nightly pavement repair (Buffalo Speedway to the South Loop, through Friday) is in its second night, the West Loop Northbound striping closure runs nightly to November 6, and the long-term total closures stand at US-90 Alternate (Du Pont to Cullen, to May 31, 2027) and the IH-10 Katy HOV lanes (Franklin to Studemont, to July 1, 2027). FM-360 in Needville remains closed continuously until November 13.
