NFL Fines Two Texans Defenders a Combined $18,028 for Hits in the Overtime Loss to the Giants
Ja'Marcus Ingram ($6,361, unnecessary roughness on kickoff coverage) and M.J. Stewart ($11,667, an unflagged hip-drop tackle) were fined after league review of the Week 7 game - Houston's last outing before its bye.

HOUSTON - The NFL has fined two Houston Texans defenders a combined $18,028 for plays in the team's 27-21 overtime loss to the New York Giants, after the league's review of the Week 7 game at NRG Stadium.
Cornerback Ja'Marcus Ingram was fined $6,361 for unnecessary roughness: a late hit during second-quarter kickoff coverage against Giants returner Charlie Jones that was flagged on the field and gave New York strong field position - field position the Giants came away from empty-handed when Dominic Zvada missed a field goal.
Safety M.J. Stewart was fined $11,667 for an illegal hip-drop tackle in the fourth quarter against tight end Isaiah Likely - a play officials did not flag during the game. Stewart was starting in place of the injured Reed Blankenship.
The fines land in a quiet week for Houston: the Giants loss on Oct. 25 was the Texans' last game before their Week 8 bye, and it left them 2-5 with home losses in all four games at NRG Stadium so far. The Texans return to the field Sunday at the Los Angeles Chargers, with kickoff at 3:05 p.m. Central at SoFi Stadium.
