Houston Overnight Weather: 65 and Overcast at Midnight, Friday Drizzle for the Final Early-Voting Day, Halloween Wet at 56 Percent
The midnight feed keeps the shape of the week: a drizzly Friday for the last day of early voting, a wetter Halloween Saturday, and an Election Day thunderstorm code that has now held for five straight reads.

HOUSTON - Houston crossed into Friday, the final day of early voting, at 65.3 degrees and feeling like 67 under overcast skies, on the station's live weather feed read shortly after midnight. Friday itself carries drizzle code 51 - a high of 75.5 degrees, a low of 64.1 and a 17 percent rain chance. Against the late-evening file, Friday's high ticked up a degree and a half, from 74.0 to 75.5, and its rain chance rose two points, from 15 to 17. It is a grey, mostly dry day to close the early vote, not a washout.
Halloween did not move overnight. Saturday holds drizzle code 55 at 78.6 degrees over 65.8, with its rain chance steady at 56 percent - the same reading the 10 p.m. file carried after an evening that briefly upgraded the day to a thunderstorm code and then took it back. Trick-or-treat planning stays where the late file left it: expect drizzle at some point Saturday, not a storm.
The rest of the week held its shape as well. Sunday stays overcast at 84.9 and 70.4 with a 16 percent rain chance, and Monday stays the warm day of the stretch at 86.3 under drizzle code 51 with a 7 percent chance. Wednesday clears to code 1 at 75.5 degrees with a 24 percent chance, and next Thursday reads clear code 0 at 78.8 with a 4 percent chance.
Between Monday and Wednesday sits the day Houston votes on, and it did not move either. Election Day Tuesday held thunderstorm code 96 for a fifth straight read - 80.3 degrees over 69.2 with a 60 percent rain chance. Friday's voters get drizzle; Tuesday's, on the current feed, still get a storm watch in everything but name.
