Houston Halloween Forecast Flips Again: Saturday Drops Back to Drizzle Code 55 and Cools to 79, Election Day Storm Holds at 96
The 10 p.m. feed undoes the 8 p.m. upgrade. Halloween now reads drizzle, not thunderstorms - but wetter drizzle, at a 56 percent chance, and six degrees cooler than the evening file had it.

HOUSTON - Houston's Halloween forecast has changed its mind twice in one evening. The station's live weather feed, read at about 10:06 p.m. Thursday, put Saturday back on drizzle code 55 - the code it carried most of the day before the 8 p.m. read briefly upgraded it to a thunderstorm code 95. Saturday's high fell with the downgrade, from 84.4 degrees on the evening read to 78.6, while its rain chance rose from 43 percent to 56 percent. It is a cooler, wetter, less violent Halloween than the last file described.
Friday changed too. The last full day of early voting now carries drizzle code 51, where the evening read had plain overcast code 3: a high of 74.0 degrees, a low of 63.6 and a rain chance up from 6 percent to 15 percent. Thursday night itself read 67.5 degrees and feeling like 66.7 under overcast skies at the 10 p.m. check, closing a day that topped out at 78.9 with almost no rain - a 1 percent chance on the day's line.
The rest of the week held its shape. Sunday stays overcast at 84.9 and 70.4 with a 16 percent rain chance, Monday stays the warm day of the stretch at 86.3 under drizzle code 51 with a 7 percent chance, and Wednesday clears to code 1 at 75.5 degrees with a 24 percent chance. Between them sits the day Houston is voting on.
Election Day did not move. Tuesday held thunderstorm code 96 for the fourth straight read of the day, at 80.3 degrees over 69.2 with a 60 percent rain chance - two points softer than the evening file's 62, but the same storm code on the same day. Trick-or-treaters now plan around drizzle; voters, on the current feed, still plan around a storm.
