Houston Weather at 4 P.M.: 75 Degrees, Friday Jumps to Heavy Rain, Halloween Chance Climbs to 56 Percent, Election Day to 68
The late-afternoon feed moved every number the wrong way for a dry weekend: Friday is now a heavy-rain code 65 at 58 percent, Halloween's showers sit at 56, and Tuesday's thunderstorms at 68.

HOUSTON - Houston stood at 75.5 degrees, feeling like 77.6, under overcast skies on the station's live weather feed read at about 4:08 p.m. Friday - and the forecast underneath that calm reading sharpened considerably. Friday itself now carries heavy-rain code 65, up two grades from the light-rain code 61 it held at 2 p.m., with the day's high of 77 degrees already reached, a low of 65.7 and a rain chance of 58 percent. The Friday-evening commute and the last two hours of early voting are the wettest window of the day on this read.
Halloween Saturday worsened on the same read. The day holds light-rain-shower code 63 at 79.4 degrees over 69.9, but its rain chance climbed to 56 percent from 35 percent at 2 p.m. - the first time today the feed has put Halloween rain above a coin flip. Trick-or-treat planning should now assume showers are likely at some point in the evening rather than merely possible, with rain gear over costumes the practical call.
Election Day kept its own unwelcome trend. Tuesday holds thunderstorm code 95 at 80.6 degrees with a rain chance of 68 percent - up from 63 percent on the last two reads and the highest figure the feed has given any day this week. Sunday and Monday remain the dry, hot bridge in between: Sunday overcast at 87 degrees with a 2 percent chance, Monday overcast at 87.1 with a 1 percent chance, and Wednesday and Thursday clear to code 0 at 81.7. The Weather Desk updates the file as the feed moves.
