Houston Weather at 2 P.M.: 76 Degrees, Friday Upgrades to Light Rain, Halloween Steps Up to Showers, Election Day Storms Still 63 Percent
The afternoon feed raised both codes: Friday is now a light-rain day (code 61) at its 77-degree high, and Halloween Saturday is a light-rain-shower day (code 63) at 35 percent.

HOUSTON - Houston stood at 76.3 degrees, feeling like 77.5, under overcast skies on the station's live weather feed read at about 2:06 p.m. Friday, the final afternoon of early voting. Friday's forecast stepped up a grade: the day now carries light-rain code 61 - an upgrade from the drizzle code 53 it held all morning - with a high of 77 degrees, a low of 65.7 and a rain chance of 45 percent. Anyone heading to a vote center or out for the Friday commute should plan on actual rain, not just damp air.
Halloween Saturday stepped up the same way. The day now carries light-rain-shower code 63 at 79.2 degrees over 68.1, with a rain chance of 35 percent - a wetter character than the drizzle the feed called for at noon, at about the same probability. Trick-or-treating Saturday evening still looks workable, but costumes that survive a shower are the safer pick, and the umbrella question has tilted toward yes.
The rest of the week held firm. Sunday is fog code 45 and hot at 87 degrees with a 2 percent rain chance, Monday is overcast at 87.1 with a 3 percent chance, and Election Day Tuesday keeps thunderstorm code 95 at 80.6 degrees with a 63 percent rain chance - unchanged across six straight reads and still the highest figure in the seven-day feed. Wednesday and Thursday both clear to code 0 at 81.7 degrees. The Weather Desk updates the file as the feed moves.
