Houston Weather at 7 A.M. Monday: 70.5 Degrees and Mainly Clear - Thursday's High Falls to 71.4 in the Feed
The clear start held into the workday: 70.5 degrees, mainly clear (code 1), feeling like 76.9, with Monday now carrying a light-drizzle code at 82.4. Election Day did not move - violent rain showers (code 82) at a 77 percent rain chance - but the back of the week cooled hard: Thursday's high dropped five degrees to 71.4 with a dense-drizzle code.

HOUSTON - Houston stood at 70.5 degrees under a mainly clear sky (code 1) at 7 a.m. on Monday, feeling like 76.9, according to the station's live weather feed - the second straight clearing read of the morning, after the 5 a.m. file caught the sky's first clear code of the night.
Monday's own line changed underneath that clear start: the day now carries code 51, light drizzle, though the rain chance stays at just 3 percent, with a high of 82.4 and a low of 70.4. For the last full day of campaign errands and the Rockets crowd downtown tonight, it remains the week's driest day by the number that matters.
Tuesday - Election Day - is the feed's fixed point: code 82, the violent-rain-showers end of the scale, a high of 80.9, a low of 64.5 and a 77 percent rain chance, unchanged from the 5 a.m. file. Polls run 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Harris County, and the rain chance has now held in the high 70s through three consecutive morning reads.
The movement is behind Tuesday. Wednesday is overcast at 80.9 with a 12 percent rain chance, but Thursday's high has fallen to 71.4 from 76.4 - the week's coolest day by a wide margin - with a dense-drizzle code (55) and a 32 percent rain chance. Friday carries a moderate-drizzle code (53) at 79 degrees and 17 percent, Saturday returns to overcast at 83.6, and Sunday clears to code 1 at 81.6.
