Houston Weather at 2 A.M.: 66 and Overcast, Friday Cools to 73 With Rain Chances Up to 26 Percent, Election Day Eases to Code 95
The 2 a.m. feed cools the final early-voting day, warms Monday to 87, and takes one notch off Election Day's storm code - while Halloween's drizzle chance holds at 56 percent.

HOUSTON - Houston stood at 66.3 degrees, feeling like 68.4, under overcast code 3 skies on the station's live weather feed read at about 2:10 a.m. Friday - a touch warmer than the midnight read, on the morning of the final day of early voting. Friday itself changed the most overnight: its high slipped to 73.7 degrees from 75.5, its low held near 63.8, and its rain chance under drizzle code 51 rose to 26 percent from 17. Voters heading out on the last early day should expect a cooler, greyer day with a real chance of drizzle.
Halloween Saturday did not move. It holds drizzle code 55 at 79.3 degrees over 65.8, with its rain chance steady at 56 percent - the same figure the feed has carried through the night. Trick-or-treat hours still look damp at some point rather than stormy.
The new week warmed and cleared at the edges. Sunday stays overcast at 85.2 and 70.8 with a 16 percent rain chance, and Monday is now the warm day of the stretch at 87.1 degrees, its code upgraded from drizzle 51 to overcast 3 with a 7 percent chance. Wednesday cleared completely to code 0 at 77.0 degrees with a 24 percent chance, and next Thursday reads overcast at 80.0 with a 4 percent chance.
Election Day softened by exactly one code. Tuesday now carries thunderstorm code 95 instead of 96 - 78.6 degrees over 68.2, with the rain chance unchanged at 60 percent. It is still the wettest, stormiest day on the board by a wide margin; the change is in the storm's expected character, not in whether Houston should plan for rain when it votes.
