World Series Game 5 Live: Brewers Lead the Rays 4-1 in the Ninth, Three Outs From Their First Title
Milwaukee is on the edge of the first championship in franchise history at Tropicana Field - Cooper Pratt has driven in or scored three of the four runs, Jacob Misiorowski's scoreless gem ended with a calf cramp in the sixth, and Trevor Megill is on for the ninth with the Rays down to their last outs.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Milwaukee Brewers went to the bottom of the ninth inning on Wednesday night three outs from the first World Series title in franchise history, leading the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5 at Tropicana Field. The Rays, who staved off a sweep with a 12-inning win in Game 4 on Tuesday, have scored once in the ninth against closer Trevor Megill; at this file's last verified read, Megill was still on the mound and no final had been recorded.
Milwaukee built the lead the way it has built this whole Series - around rookie shortstop Cooper Pratt. Pratt's second-inning single scored Brice Turang for 1-0, and in the fifth Pratt singled, moved up on Garrett Mitchell's single and scored on David Hamilton's single for 2-0. The sixth doubled it: Christian Yelich was hit by a pitch and scored on William Contreras' double - Contreras' fourth RBI of the Series - and Pratt's sacrifice fly brought Contreras home for 4-0 and Pratt's seventh RBI of the Series, at least two in each of the last three games.
Jacob Misiorowski gave Milwaukee 5 2/3 scoreless innings - two hits, one walk, two strikeouts on 86 pitches - before leaving in the sixth with what the Brewers called a right calf cramp, walking off under his own power. JoJo Romero finished the sixth, and Romero, Abner Uribe and Megill combined for hitless relief into the ninth before Tampa Bay broke through for its run.
This is a live file, not a final: the Rays were batting in the bottom of the ninth at the last verified read. The final score, the championship story and the World Series MVP file in the overnight cycle within 45 minutes of the last out.
