Officers responded to 1000 Westpark Drive around 6:15 a.m. Saturday and found a person shot to death, FOX 26 reported; police have released no details about the shooting and no information about any suspect.
HOUSTON - Houston police are investigating a deadly shooting on Westpark Drive early Saturday morning. Officers responded to 1000 Westpark Drive around 6:15 a.m., where a person had been shot to death, FOX 26 Houston reported.
That is, for now, the whole of what officials have put on the record. Police have not provided details about the shooting - not the circumstances, not the victim's identity, and not any information about suspects involved. No name is carried in this story because police have not released one, and no account of what led to the gunfire has been offered by the department.
Westpark Drive runs through southwest Houston's Westchase-side commercial corridor, a stretch of offices and apartments that is quiet at 6 a.m. on a Saturday. Whether the shooting happened indoors or outside, and whether anyone else was hurt, are among the questions the department has not yet answered in its first account.
The investigation is in its first hours, and FOX 26 carried the case as a developing story. This station will update the file when Houston police release the victim's identity or a description of what investigators believe happened - from the department's own account, not from scene chatter.
