Fatal Shooting at 400 Greens Road Goes to a Harris County Grand Jury, Houston Police Say
A man in his 20s was found shot inside a vehicle that had hit a tree at a Greens Road apartment complex Thursday night and died at the scene; homicide detectives interviewed two persons of interest and, after consulting the District Attorney's Office, referred the case to a grand jury.

HOUSTON - A fatal shooting at an apartment complex in north Houston is headed to a Harris County Grand Jury, Houston police said. The shooting happened about 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, at an apartment complex at 400 Greens Road.
Patrol officers responding to a shooting call found a man with apparent gunshot wounds inside a vehicle that had hit a tree in the complex parking lot. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. The dead man is believed to be in his 20s; the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences has not yet notified his family, and police have not released his name.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives I. Barrett and A. Beiza said the preliminary investigation identified two persons of interest. Homicide investigators interviewed both and consulted the Harris County District Attorney's Office, and investigators then decided to refer the shooting to a Harris County Grand Jury. Police did not say whether anyone has been charged, and they did not describe what led to the gunfire or release details about the two people interviewed.
A grand jury referral means a panel of Harris County residents will review the evidence and decide whether charges issue; police have not said when that review will take place. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600. The incident number is 707231326.
