Wembanyama Scores 43 With Six Blocks as Spurs Beat Timberwolves 121-111 for Fourth Straight Win
Victor Wembanyama poured in a season-high 43 points with seven rebounds, six blocks and four assists in San Antonio on Saturday night, carrying the Spurs past a short-handed Minnesota team 121-111 for their fourth consecutive victory.

SAN ANTONIO - The biggest show in Texas basketball on Saturday night was in San Antonio. Victor Wembanyama scored a season-high 43 points, collected seven rebounds, blocked six shots and handed out four assists as the Spurs beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 121-111 for their fourth straight victory.
Wembanyama shot 17 of 34 from the field and reached 40 points for the tenth time in a regular-season game. The sequence that summed up the night came at both ends: he blocked Jonathan Kuminga's three-point attempt, then raced downcourt for a two-handed dunk that gave him 40. Dylan Harper added 25 points and six assists for San Antonio, and De'Aaron Fox scored 20.
Minnesota arrived short-handed and stayed in it anyway. The Timberwolves played without Anthony Edwards, who is recovering from knee surgery, without Donte DiVincenzo after Achilles surgery, and without Rudy Gobert, who sat with low back spasms. Ayo Dosunmu led them with 27 points and nine rebounds, and a 16-0 second-quarter run wiped out San Antonio's early 43-33 lead and sent Minnesota into halftime up a point.
The Spurs took a five-point lead into the fourth quarter and Wembanyama closed the door, his three-pointer with 2:40 remaining pushing the margin to 118-107. San Antonio improved to 4-2 in the opener of a three-game homestand, while Minnesota fell to 4-3 with its third loss in four games.
