Weatherford Closes Ric Williamson Highway From I-20 to Greenwood Road Thursday for the Vance Rally; Closures Run 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Ranger Highway also closes to through traffic, Mineral Wells Highway narrows to its inside lane eastbound, and police point drivers to South Bowie Drive and Greenwood Road while Vice President JD Vance campaigns in Parker County.

WEATHERFORD - Drivers crossing Parker County on Thursday should plan around a presidential-security footprint, not just a rally. Weatherford police announced road closures and traffic changes running from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday for Vice President JD Vance's midterm rally at JRJ Construction, 1140 Ric Williamson Memorial Highway. Ric Williamson Highway itself closes from Interstate 20 to Greenwood Road - the rally's front door - for the full five-hour window.
The closures reach beyond the venue. Ranger Highway closes to through traffic between Greenwood Cutoff Road and Greenwood Road, though residents and workers can still get through by notifying the officers directing traffic. Eastbound traffic on Mineral Wells Highway shifts to the inside lane. Police pointed drivers to two alternates - South Bowie Drive and Greenwood Road - and urged anyone traveling through the area to plan ahead, allow extra time and follow officers' directions.
Inside the fence, the schedule runs doors at 10 a.m., program at 12:15 p.m. and Vance's remarks at 1:50 p.m., according to the event announcement - which puts the vice president on stage barely an hour before the roads reopen at 3:30. The Weatherford stop is the Republican closing week's Texas push for late-deciding and late-voting Republicans: early voting ends Friday, and Election Day is Tuesday. This station will file Vance's remarks separately, on what he actually says.
