Houston Weather at 7 P.M. Monday: 75.3 Degrees and Clear, and Thursday Flips to a Thunderstorm Code While Friday Cools to 73.7
The evening read is the clearest of the day: 75.3 degrees under a clear sky. Election Day does not move - heavy rain (code 65), 83.2 degrees, a 39 percent chance. The week's back half does: Thursday jumped from rain showers to a thunderstorm code (95) at 82.4 degrees, and Friday dropped to drizzle (53) and a high of just 73.7.

HOUSTON - Houston stood at 75.3 degrees under a clear sky (code 0) at 7 p.m. on Monday, feeling like 79.8, according to the station's live weather feed - the first fully clear read of the day, on a Monday whose daily line is overcast (code 3) with a high of 82.4, a low of 70.4 and a 4 percent rain chance.
Election Day is the week's fixed point. Tuesday holds its heavy-rain code (65), its high of 83.2 and its low of 62.3, and its rain chance stays at 39 percent for a second straight file. Voters heading to the polls between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. should still plan around rain; the code has not softened even where the chance has. Wednesday still clears out behind it - partly cloudy (code 2), a high that rose to 81.8 in this read, no rain chance, and the week's coolest morning low, 57.0.
Thursday is where the week changed its mind. The day flipped from rain showers (code 81) to a thunderstorm (code 95) - the strongest code on the board after Tuesday's heavy rain - and warmed with it, the high jumping from 74.6 to 82.4 and the low from 68.0 to 69.6, with the rain chance holding at 35 percent. Friday went the other way: showers gave way to drizzle (code 53), and the high fell from 77.1 to 73.7, the coolest daytime reading of the week, with a 30 percent chance.
The weekend cooled and calmed: Saturday overcast at 76.5 (down from 79.3) and Sunday mainly clear (code 1) at 75.6 (down from 79.7), each with a 28 percent rain chance. This desk reads the feed again tonight; Tuesday's heavy-rain code is still the one that matters first.
