Houston Weather at 10 A.M.: 76 Degrees and Cloudy, Midday Showers Near 80, Then a Dry Halloween Evening
Houston's Halloween pattern is holding at mid-morning: a cloudy, humid start, one round of midday showers, and a partly cloudy, dry evening near 78 degrees for trick-or-treating.

Houston reached mid-morning on Halloween warm, grey and humid. Weather.com's live Houston read at 10 a.m. Saturday showed cloudy skies, 76 degrees, humidity at 90 percent and an east wind at 6 mph, with no weather alerts in effect and air quality moderate at an index of 52. Temperatures edge to 77 by 11 a.m. as the day's one wet window approaches.
That window is midday, as it has been in every read today. The hourly forecast puts showers over Houston from about noon to 2 p.m., with rain chances of 35 to 39 percent, temperatures of 79 to 80 degrees and feels-like readings in the mid-80s. The daily summary gives Saturday a high of 82, a low of 70 and a 40 percent overall rain chance. Anyone with an outdoor lunch or an early cemetery or festival visit should expect a damp hour or two, not a washout.
The evening remains the payoff the morning files promised. By 3 p.m. the forecast turns mostly cloudy with rain chances down to 21 percent, by 5 p.m. they are at 5 percent, and the trick-or-treat hours run partly cloudy at 80 degrees at 6 p.m. easing to 76 to 78 through 9 p.m., with sunset at 6:35 p.m. Streets that get wet at midday should be dry again by the time costumes come out.
Sunday brings the clock change and a warmer read than earlier files carried. After clocks fall back at 2 a.m., Sunday runs partly cloudy with a high of 85, a low of 71 and a 20 percent rain chance in this read - two degrees warmer than the 83 the station carried at 8 a.m. - with sunrise at 6:34 a.m. and sunset at 5:34 p.m. on standard time. The Weather Desk's next full file is the 17:00 evening update.
