AM Drive: US-90 Alternate Is Totally Closed at Cullen, and the Overnight Northwest Closures Clear at 5
Houston TranStar's Wednesday list leads with a total closure of US-90 Alternate between Du Pont Street and Cullen Boulevard that runs until May 2027, plus a continuous FM-360 closure in Needville - while the overnight US-290 and Tomball Tollway closures were scheduled to lift at 5 a.m.

The longest closure on Houston TranStar's Wednesday list is also the most complete one: US-90 Alternate is under a total closure in both directions from Du Pont Street to Cullen Boulevard for construction, listed as closed until further notice from Tuesday, October 20, 2026, to Monday, May 31, 2027. Drivers who use that stretch of the South Loop corridor should plan on frontage and parallel routes for the long haul, not just this week.
In Fort Bend County, FM-360 is closed northbound and southbound from SH 36 to FM 1236 in Needville for construction, with two alternate lanes affected, listed as closed continuously from Monday, October 12, 2026, to Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 3 p.m. - an active closure on TranStar's list Wednesday morning.
The overnight work on the northwest side was scheduled to clear before the morning rush: the US-290 Northwest westbound left interchange ramp at Little York Road to Beltway 8-West was listed as closed overnight from Tuesday 9 p.m. to Wednesday 5 a.m., and the Tomball Tollway northbound at Northpoint Boulevard to Business 249/Holderrieth - two mainlanes and the right shoulder - carried the same Tuesday 9 p.m. to Wednesday 5 a.m. window. Both are listed by TranStar with those end times; drivers on those corridors Wednesday morning should still expect any residual cones or crews TranStar has not yet cleared from the list.
On the Katy Freeway, separate from the HOV connector closure this station reported this morning, TranStar continues to list two outside lanes closed westbound from IH-45/Hogan Street to Studemont Street, and one alternate lane each way between Heights Boulevard and IH-45, both long-running construction listings. No new Wednesday-morning incident closures beyond the construction list were verified this run, and none are asserted here.
