Hockley Man Arrested at Home for Friday's Cypress Bank Robbery; Officials Say He Was on Parole Until 2032
Investigators say surveillance video and a license plate led them from the PNC Bank on Cypress Rose Hill Road to a Hockley address - where Samuel Williams II, who officials say was on parole from a 2012 bank robbery conviction, was arrested Wednesday.

A Hockley man is in the Harris County Jail for last Friday's bank robbery in Cypress. Harris County law enforcement and FBI Houston say Samuel Williams II was arrested at his Hockley home on Wednesday for the robbery of the PNC Bank on Cypress Rose Hill Road, near Highway 290, FOX 26 Houston reported.
The robbery happened last Friday afternoon. A detective at the scene said a man approached a bank teller and demanded cash, threatening that he had a weapon; the teller complied and handed over money, and the man left on foot. No one was hurt. Whether the suspect actually had a weapon is not clear, the detective said, and officials have not said how much money was taken.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, surveillance footage showed the suspect arriving at and leaving the bank in a white Ford Crown Victoria. The license plate visible on the vehicle was registered to a Hockley address; investigators say Williams matched the person in the security footage and lived at the same home where the vehicle was registered. Authorities obtained an arrest warrant and took him into custody at the home.
Officials say Williams was on parole until 2032 after being convicted of another bank robbery in 2012; no further details of that earlier conviction were released. The arrest is an accusation carried on the authorities' account - the case now moves to the courts.
