Trump Takes Midterm Blitz to Corinth, Mississippi Monday to Rally for Hyde-Smith
President Donald Trump speaks at Crossroads Arena in Corinth on Monday evening for Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, in a Mississippi Senate race that predictors have inched toward toss-up territory as Democrats pour in national support for district attorney Scott Colom.

President Donald Trump is set to campaign in Mississippi on Monday, Oct. 26, on behalf of Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, according to an Oct. 21 press release from the Republican National Committee reported by the Clarion Ledger. Trump will speak Monday evening at the Crossroads Arena in Corinth, with doors opening at 2:30 p.m., the program beginning at 4:30 p.m. and remarks set for 6 p.m., the Memphis Commercial Appeal reported; attendance requires advance registration, with a maximum of four tickets per sign-up.
Mississippi is ordinarily safe Republican ground — Trump won the state in 2024 with more than 60 percent of the vote, the Clarion Ledger noted — which is what makes the stop notable eight days before the Nov. 3 midterms. The president has spent the closing stretch touring the country for Republican candidates and, in recent weeks, dropping into reliably Republican states including Kentucky and Tennessee, as election predictors speculate that the 2026 cycle is shaping up as a "blue wave" year.
Hyde-Smith, whom Trump previously endorsed as "100% MAGA" and who has aligned herself closely with the president since her first election, faces Democrat Scott Colom, a district attorney. Colom has racked up endorsement after endorsement from high-ranking Democrats, the Clarion Ledger reported: former President Barack Obama released an ad supporting him, Sens. Cory Booker of New Jersey and Raphael Warnock of Georgia have held campaign events alongside him, and former Vice President Kamala Harris campaigned on his behalf in his native Columbus on Oct. 22.
Race predictors have inched Mississippi's Senate contest closer to the "toss-up" classification as national Democratic support has ramped up, and Trump's Corinth rally is likely the Republican Party's response, the Clarion Ledger reported. The Mississippi stop opens the final full week of the president's midterm tour; he is due in Texas on Tuesday for rallies in Corpus Christi and Lubbock, a swing this station covered Sunday.
