HOUSTON - There is no Texans game this Sunday, and for a team that limped into its week off, the timing is the point. Houston's bye week falls in Week 8, on Sunday, November 1, one week after a 27-21 home loss to the New York Giants at NRG Stadium.

The schedule that produced the break was a traveling one: the Texans' Week 6 game was played in London, a 34-31 win over Jacksonville, before the home loss to New York. Houston now gets the open date before the season's second half begins on the road.

What waits after the bye is a road-heavy stretch: at the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, November 8, in an afternoon kickoff at SoFi Stadium; at Cleveland on November 15; and then a quick turnaround to a home game against Indianapolis on Thursday, November 19.

For Houston fans, the Sunday slate goes on without them - the rest of the league plays its Week 8/9 weekend while the Texans heal, reset, and prepare for a November that opens with two straight road games.
