Lawn Crew Finds Skeletal Remains by Beltway 8 in West Harris County (SPACE CITY DAILY)

Skeletal remains found beside Beltway 8 in west Harris County on Saturday are under investigation, FOX 26 Houston reported. The remains were reported at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday in an area by the southbound side of the beltway at 4477 West Sam Houston Parkway North, just north of Clay Road.

Houston police say a lawn crew working in the area reported the remains, according to the department's release. Officers responded to the call and found what they believe to be skeletal remains. Police have released no description beyond that, and no identity has been announced.

The identity of the remains and the cause of death are being investigated by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, which handles identification and death investigation for the county. That work — establishing who the person was and how they died — will determine what kind of case this becomes.

Anyone with information can call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600. The station will update this file if forensic officials release an identification or additional findings.
