John Washington III Says the Corrupt Political System Must Be Exposed, and Gatekeeping Pushes Independent Voices Out
Presidential candidate John Washington III is asking who decides which candidates get the cameras, the money, the endorsements and the publicity - arguing that independent voices are pushed out while their ideas are handed to chosen candidates, and calling for peaceful, constitutional change.

"This corrupt political system needs to be exposed," John Washington III wrote, opening a statement that aimed at the machinery behind the candidates voters see. "Who decides who gets put in front of the cameras? Who gets the money, the endorsements, the publicity?" the presidential candidate asked.
John Washington III argued that independent voices are pushed out while their ideas are taken. "They won't stand behind us, but they'll hand our ideas to their chosen puppets on a string," he wrote. "That's not democracy, that's gatekeeping."
John Washington III said he is calling for change - "peaceful, constitutional change" - to build a new government that actually works for the people. He cited the Declaration of Independence, which he noted says that when a government becomes destructive of the people's rights, the people can alter or abolish it.
"Let's come together and build something that serves the people, not the powerful," John Washington III wrote, signing the statement with his name and his 2028 presidential candidacy.
