Brewers Can Sweep the Rays in World Series Game 4 Tonight and Win Their First Title
Milwaukee leads Tampa Bay 3-0 and can close out the first championship in franchise history at 7 p.m. Central tonight at Tropicana Field - which would be the first World Series sweep since 2012. No team has ever come back from 3-0 down to win a World Series.

The Milwaukee Brewers are one win from the first World Series championship in franchise history. Milwaukee leads the Tampa Bay Rays 3-0 in the best-of-seven series, and Game 4 is tonight at 7 p.m. Central at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, with all games airing on Fox, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
History is stacked behind the Brewers and against a comeback. No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit to win a World Series, and of the 25 previous teams to take a 3-0 lead, 21 finished the sweep and four won in five games, the Associated Press reported. A Milwaukee win tonight would also be the first World Series sweep since the San Francisco Giants swept Detroit in 2012 - the longest drought between sweeps in the event's history, USA TODAY noted - and, per AP, would make the Brewers the first team to sweep an LCS and a World Series in the same postseason since the 1976 Cincinnati Reds.
Tampa Bay turns to Griffin Jax to start Game 4, AP reported, while Milwaukee had not announced its starter. The Rays, who led the American League with 98 regular-season wins and have never won a World Series in 29 seasons, unraveled at home in Game 3 in front of a sellout crowd of 40,388, AP reported, after making uncharacteristic mistakes on the bases and defense in the first two games in Milwaukee.
If the Rays survive tonight, Game 5 is Wednesday night at Tropicana Field, and Games 6 and 7, if necessary, return to Milwaukee on Friday and Saturday. The Sports Desk files on tonight's final within 45 minutes of the last out.
