Texas Blows a 21-Point Lead, Then Holds Off No. 7 Ole Miss 34-27
Arch Manning accounted for three touchdowns and Raleek Brown ran for 157 yards as No. 19 Texas built a 24-3 halftime lead, lost it, and still beat seventh-ranked Ole Miss 34-27 on Saturday night in Austin.

No. 19 Texas nearly gave away a season-saving win, then saved it anyway. The Longhorns beat seventh-ranked Ole Miss 34-27 on Saturday night at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium after building a 24-3 halftime lead, watching the Rebels score 21 straight points to tie it, and retaking the lead for good in the fourth quarter.
Arch Manning passed for 212 yards and accounted for three touchdowns — a 50-yard scoring strike to Ryan Wingo and his first two rushing touchdowns of the season, including a 1-yard bootleg that broke a 24-24 tie after Raleek Brown's 47-yard run set it up. Brown finished with 157 rushing yards, and Gianni Spetic added field goals of 23 and 33 yards, the second stretching the lead to 34-24 with 2:25 to play.
Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns, both to Horatio Fields, but also threw three interceptions. The Rebels cut it to 34-27 on Lucas Carneiro's 39-yard field goal with 1:22 left, recovered the onside kick, and drove one last time — only for Chambliss's final pass into the end zone to be intercepted by Jelani McDonald.
The win snaps a two-game losing streak and moves Texas to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in the SEC. Ole Miss falls to 5-2 and 3-2 in conference play.
