Texans Lose Jaylin Noel for the Season to a Turf Toe Injury - the Third Receiver Down in a Thinning Room
Noel's surgery ends his 2026, joining Jayden Higgins on the shelf and leaving C.J. Stroud's passing game leaning harder on Nico Collins and a still-settling Marvin Harrison Jr.

HOUSTON - The Texans' wide receiver room has lost another man for the year. Jaylin Noel will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after requiring surgery for a turf toe injury, Bleacher Report reported Wednesday, citing Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle. Noel joins Jayden Higgins, who is on injured reserve and done for the season with a torn ACL.
The attrition explains the front office's urgency earlier this month. Houston traded for Marvin Harrison Jr. - the fourth overall pick in the 2024 draft - after Higgins' injury, while Nico Collins, C.J. Stroud's top target when healthy, was also missing time with a hamstring injury. Harrison has produced four catches for 40 yards and a touchdown in his first two games as a Texan: real help, but not yet the definitive No. 2 the offense drew up.
What remains is a room of roles rather than depth. Collins carries the top job whenever he is available, Harrison has to grow into the second spot faster than planned, and Xavier Hutchinson and Tank Dell round out a group with no spare parts left. For an offense built around Stroud's timing, every week from here is a chemistry experiment conducted in public.
