Obama Mocks Trump's White House as 'Saddam Hussein Opened a Cheesecake Factory' on Ohio, Michigan Swing
Former President Barack Obama campaigned Saturday in Ohio and Michigan for Democratic candidates, blaming the Trump administration for rising living costs and mocking the president's White House renovations nine days before the November 3 midterms.

Former President Barack Obama took the midterm campaign trail on Saturday, rallying in Ohio and Michigan for Democratic candidates as his party tries to wrest back control of one or both chambers of Congress in the November 3 elections, AFP reported.
In Cleveland, where he campaigned for former Sen. Sherrod Brown's comeback bid against Republican Sen. Jon Husted, Obama blamed the Trump administration for the rising cost of living and soaring fuel prices. 'The current president chose to make a series of bad decisions,' he said, and told the crowd: 'After two years of chaos and cruelty and corruption and incompetence, the likes of which we have not seen in the modern era, you get a chance to say, Enough is enough.' In Michigan, he campaigned for Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who is in a close race with Republican Mike Rogers.
The sharpest line of the day was about the building itself. Running through President Donald Trump's renovation projects - the White House ballroom, the Rose Garden makeover and the gold decorations in the Oval Office - Obama said Trump 'seems very focused on home renovations' and 'should be on HGTV,' then added: 'He's got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory.'
Obama urged supporters in both states to vote as soon as possible, with early voting already open: 'Don't procrastinate, don't equivocate,' he said. National polls suggest Democrats could regain control of the House while facing a much more competitive contest for the Senate, AFP reported. Ohio's governor's race, between Democrat Amy Acton and Republican Vivek Ramaswamy, is also rated close.
