Man Pleads Guilty in Hit-and-Run That Killed Fort Bend County Deputy Kenneth Lewis
Dennis Arguello-Acosta has pleaded guilty to failure to stop and render aid in the February crash that killed Fort Bend County Deputy Kenneth Lewis, an 11-year veteran, and has agreed to a 12-year prison sentence, FOX 26 Houston reported.

A man charged in the hit-and-run death of a Fort Bend County sheriff's deputy has pleaded guilty and agreed to a 12-year prison sentence, FOX 26 Houston reported. Dennis Arguello-Acosta pleaded guilty to a charge of failure to stop and render aid for an accident involving death, the station reported.
The charge stems from the February death of Deputy Kenneth Lewis, an 11-year veteran of the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office. Lewis died two days after he was struck by a vehicle in late February, FOX 26 reported.
Houston Police said Lewis was off-duty but in uniform at about 3:40 a.m. when he stopped to help people involved in a separate crash, according to the station's report. While he was helping, a third vehicle struck him and left the scene, the report said.
The Department of Homeland Security announced Arguello-Acosta's arrest in March, FOX 26 reported. The station reported that the FBI and other law enforcement agencies received a tip about him on March 11, and he was eventually taken into ICE custody.
