Houston Tuesday Morning Weather: Humidity Returns, With Light Rain Possible and Halloween Moisture Building
Houston starts Tuesday at 64.5 degrees under an overcast, and the dry stretch is ending: humidity is returning, KPRC puts light rain possible late Tuesday morning - highest west and southwest - and the week's real rain event builds Friday and Halloween Saturday on moisture from Tropical Storm Vance.

Houston's Tuesday starts grey and turning humid. The station's live Open-Meteo feed read 64.5 degrees and overcast in the morning hours, feeling like 65.1, and it holds the day at a high of 78.4, a low of 63.9 and a headline precipitation chance of 8 percent. KPRC's weather desk tells the more active version of the same day: after a string of dry weather with low humidity, light rain is possible late Tuesday morning into the early afternoon, with the western and southwestern parts of the city holding the highest chances of showers - and the pattern stays with Houston on Wednesday, when the feed again reads overcast, 80 degrees and an 8 percent chance.
Thursday is still the week's clean day on the feed - overcast, 83.3 degrees and a zero rain chance. FOX 26 keeps the midweek frame at mostly cloudy and comfortable, with highs in the low to middle 80s Tuesday through Thursday and isolated showers possible Wednesday and Thursday. Ragweed and tree pollen continue to run high.
The week's rain event builds at the end of it, and it now has a name attached. KPRC reports the Friday and Saturday rain comes from moisture associated with Tropical Storm Vance moving into Texas; whether that moisture couples with a lifting mechanism, such as a small low-pressure disturbance, decides how much rain Houston actually gets. The station feed puts Friday at a light-rain code, 80.7 degrees and a 26 percent chance, and Halloween Saturday at 87 degrees with a 23 percent chance - FOX 26 expects at least scattered showers and storms Friday and into early Saturday, with most of the rain gone by Saturday night. KPRC notes Halloween's mid-80s high comes near the warmest Halloween on record in Houston, 88 degrees in 2004.
Two calendar notes ride with the forecast. Daylight saving time ends early Sunday, November 1, when 2 a.m. becomes 1 a.m. and Houston gets its extra hour. Beyond the weekend the feed stays warm: Sunday 89.4 degrees with a 5 percent chance, and Monday 86.2 with light rain coded and a 9 percent chance. The Weather Desk files its next regular update at 17:00.
