Georgia vs Florida: Bulldogs Lead 17-0 Late in the Second Quarter in Atlanta (SPACE CITY DAILY)

ATLANTA - The relocated rivalry is, so far, a one-team game. No. 3 Georgia led No. 20 Florida 17-0 with 1:55 left in the first half on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, according to the Athens Banner-Herald's live account read this run, with the Bulldogs outgaining the Gators 175-57. This is a live file; the final result files tonight.

Georgia's defense built the lead. Ellis Robinson intercepted Aaron Philo in the first quarter - Philo, under pressure, threw the ball up underhand - and after a Florida roughing-the-punter penalty extended the drive, Nate Frazier scored on a 1-yard direct snap with 1:50 left in the first. In the second quarter, Demello Jones picked off a Philo pass that deflected off receiver Dallas Wilson, and Peyton Woodring's 28-yard field goal made it 10-0.

Bo Walker finished the half's scoring the same way Frazier started it: a 1-yard touchdown run on a direct snap, capping an 81-yard, 10-play drive at the 1:55 mark. Georgia's only empty trip was its first, when Woodring missed a 43-yard field goal wide right.

The game itself is the anomaly the preview promised: Georgia and Florida are playing in Atlanta for the first time in the series' modern history because Jacksonville's stadium is under construction, in the building where Georgia has played five straight SEC championship games. Florida, under first-year coach Jon Sumrall, arrived trying to snap a five-game losing streak in the series - and at halftime, it has 57 yards of evidence that the streak is the problem, not the venue.
