Friday Night Roundup: Klein Oak Blanks Magnolia West 55-0, Humble Stuns Kingwood 35-7, North Shore Rolls 77-0
Klein Oak scored on all six first-half drives to keep its playoff push rolling, Humble beat Kingwood for the first time in four years, and North Shore hung 77 on Channelview in a Friday night of Houston-area statements.

HOUSTON - Klein Oak's late-season surge is the story of District 15-6A. The Panthers, who started the season 1-4, scored on all six of their first-half drives Friday night and routed Magnolia West 55-0 at Mustang Stadium, their fourth straight win in a run that has averaged 53 points a game. Romeo Miller scored three touchdowns in the second quarter alone - two rushing and one on a pass from Christian Crooms - and added a fourth from 41 yards out in the fourth quarter, finishing with 178 yards on 21 carries. Klein Oak (5-4, 5-2) led 41-0 at halftime and outgained the Mustangs 348 yards to 55 at the break; it hosts Klein Collins on Thursday night in a game with direct playoff implications. Magnolia West (3-6, 1-6) closes at Tomball Memorial.
At Turner Stadium, Humble played its most complete game of the season in the battle of Humble ISD's two original schools, stunning Kingwood 35-7. Senior quarterback Derrion Jones threw touchdown passes to three different receivers - Elyjah Hill, Vincent Joseph and Joseph Ford - and ran for a 13-yard score as the Wildcats built a 28-0 halftime lead. Humble (3-6, 2-4) has won consecutive games for the first time since opening the 2024 season 3-0, and beat Kingwood (3-6, 1-5) for the first time in four years. The one sour note: Atascocita's win over Crosby on the same night ended Humble's playoff chances, and the Wildcats close by hosting Crosby next Saturday at 1 p.m. with fifth place on the line.
The area's loudest scoreline came from North Shore, which beat Channelview 77-0, a result carried in USA TODAY's updated Texas Super 10, where the Mustangs sit in the state's top ten. Thursday's district-title final - C.E. King's 27-20 win over Summer Creek for at least a share of the District 17-6A crown - was covered by this station on Friday (SQ-20261030-074). One week of the regular season remains before the UIL playoffs, and Friday night clarified the Houston picture: Klein Oak is peaking at the right time, North Shore looks like a state contender, and Humble, even with the postseason gone, has a rivalry win to build a winter on.
