A teenager was killed in a two-vehicle crash shortly after midnight Saturday on Tuckerton Road in Cypress, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said. The driver of the other vehicle was hospitalized and showed signs of intoxication, according to authorities.

A teenager was killed in an overnight crash in Cypress, according to authorities. The crash was reported shortly after 12 a.m. Saturday on Tuckerton Road, just east of Fry Road and close to Cypress Creek Bend Drive, FOX 26 Houston reported, citing the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Officials said two vehicles were traveling in the eastbound lanes of Tuckerton: a Lincoln Aviator in the outside lane, carrying five passengers between 16 and 18 years old, and a Honda Accord in the inside lane, with two teen passengers. As the Lincoln came up behind the Honda and the Honda began to change lanes, the Lincoln struck the back right end of the Honda, sending the Honda off the road and into a tree, according to the sheriff's office account reported by FOX 26.
The Lincoln rolled multiple times, and one passenger was ejected. That passenger, identified as Jarmelo Vertudez, was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Lincoln was also hospitalized and showed signs of intoxication, officials said; authorities did not clarify the driver's condition. The Honda driver stayed at the scene and did not appear to be intoxicated, according to authorities.
It was not clear whether anyone else was injured. Authorities did not say whether anyone would be charged in connection with the crash, and the investigation is underway.
