Records: Converter Theft Suspect Was Free on Three Bonds During a Two-Month Crime Spree
Court records say 18-year-old King Solomon Thomas was free from jail on three bonds, with several violations of his bond conditions, while he allegedly kept stealing catalytic converters - four of them found in his trunk, Crime Stoppers says. He is jailed again now, with bond set at $100,000.

King Solomon Thomas racked up a lengthy record as a minor, with continuous violations of his probation, FOX 26 Houston reported. Records say he has done the same as an adult when it comes to his bond conditions: Thomas was free from jail on three bonds, with several violations, while the alleged spree continued.
"He was stealing multiple catalytic converters," said Andy Kahan with Crime Stoppers. "Four of them were found in his trunk." According to court records, Thomas was out on bond for catalytic converter theft when he allegedly committed the same crime again. He was also charged with possessing a machine gun.
Thomas is now jailed again, with his bond set at $100,000, FOX 26 reported. The records file covers a two-month spree alleged while he was out on the three bonds - the latest Houston case to put the bond system itself, and what happens when conditions are violated, at the center of a public-safety story.
