Brewers Rally From Four Runs Down to Beat Rays 5-4, Lead World Series 2-0
Rookie Cooper Pratt singled in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as Milwaukee erased a 4-0 first-inning deficit on Saturday night for a 5-4 win over Tampa Bay and a 2-0 World Series lead.

The Milwaukee Brewers trailed 4-0 before they came to bat in the bottom of the first inning on Saturday night. They won anyway. Milwaukee rallied for a 5-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 2 of the World Series at American Family Field, taking a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series behind six scoreless innings from its bullpen.
Milwaukee cut the deficit in half with two runs in the first, pulled within 4-3 in the fourth, and tied it in the sixth on Sal Frelick's leadoff home run — a 408-foot shot that was his first career postseason homer. The go-ahead run came an inning later: Brice Turang doubled, advanced on a flyout, and scored on rookie Cooper Pratt's RBI single to right, putting the Brewers ahead 5-4.
Starter Logan Henderson allowed four runs (three earned) in three innings, but the relief corps closed the door: JoJo Romero, Dustin May and DL Hall each threw a scoreless inning, Abner Uribe recorded four outs for the win, and Aaron Ashby finished for his third save of the postseason. Tampa Bay stranded the tying run at third in the ninth for the second straight game, the final out a check-swing strikeout of Yandy Diaz upheld on appeal to first base. "In the moment, yeah, I disagreed. But the umpire said it was a swing and it is what it is," Diaz said after the game, according to USA TODAY. "Ultimately, we lost."
Game 3 is Monday in St. Petersburg, Florida. Only 10 teams have overcome a 2-0 deficit to win the World Series, the last being the New York Yankees in 1996.
